VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital will host its first in-person Community Out-Reach Education program event since before the pandemic on Tuesday, April 25, from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. 

The discussion will focus on women’s health and will allow community members to ask questions about a variety of health concerns women navigate throughout their lifetime. 

The newest women’s health provider at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, Miguel Vega, M.D., plans to cover breast cancer and urinary incontinence, as well as discuss routine tests like mammograms, colonoscopies and bone densitometry studies. Vega encourages open dialogue and welcomes any questions.

Vega is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist on the CMH Women’s Health team. He earned his medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe in Bayamón, Puerto Rico and completed his residency at Ponce Regional Hospital in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and American College of Surgeons. He is fluent in both English and Spanish. 

The CORE talk will be held in the C.A.R.E. Building in education classrooms 1113-1114, with snacks and water provided. If possible, please park in the upper parking lot to save room for patients getting to appointments. The C.A.R.E. Building is located next to the hospital at 1755 N. Mecklenburg Ave. in South Hill, Virginia. Please let the front desk know you are there for a talk in the education classrooms.
